Finishing Leo's Fortune does reward with a cute plot twist at the end, but the effort is hardly worth the aggravation of getting there. As for difficulty balancing, the developers stopped trying at all eventually, figuring why bother since the player has infinite retries. By that I mean, quality level design of consistent merit. sadly the most important part of a platforming game was left half baked. For all the work they put into the pleasing graphics, professional voice acting, and complex physics engine. Leo's Fortune was almost a great puzzle platformer, but the developers missed the point and ultimately sabotaged the experience. Even with infinite lives and frequent checkpoints, the constant repetition of instadeath becomes tedious very quickly. Unless you're a fan of Super Meat Boy or I Wanna Be The Guy, in which case relish the absurd difficulty spike. (There's even a stage where you can't see where you're going most of the time, meanwhile evil machinery kills you every time you move.) What this leads to is the latter half of Leo's Fortune being not much fun at all. However somewhere around the end of the third area (there's five areas), the kid gloves come off and instead a pair of Sateré-Mawé bullet ant gloves go on. And at first you'll probably have fun navigating the stages. There are no enemies or bosses to deal with, this is an obstacle course in nature. Your primary goal is to simply collect every gold coin you find along the way. Being that there's unrealistic inertia and gravity to your movement, and yet you move along looping paths often.
